Tokopedia has chosen 2 Brand Ambassadors in 2021

Over the years, Tokopedia remains committed to fulfilling the needs of more than 100 million Indonesians in every aspect. Starting from offering daily essentials, providing a convenient way to make online investments, supporting people who want to practice their faith seamlessly, empowering the growth of traditional retailers who want to start operating their business online, and the list goes on.

By always embedding our 3 DNAs, “Focus on Consumer”, “Growth Mindset”, and “Make It Happen, Make It Better”, Tokopedia has been constantly evolving as we realize our mission to democratize commerce through technology. Throughout our journey to achieving that, Tokopedia is working hand-in-hand with strategic partners, all of whom we share the same purpose, vision, and commitment, including when it comes to appointing Tokopedia’s brand ambassadors.

In October 2019, for instance, Tokopedia chose global superstars, BTS, as Tokopedia’s brand ambassador. The group has been recognized for their remarkable growth and record-breaking achievements in the past years, namely being one of the Most Influential People 2019 by TIME magazine, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and speaker at the United Nations General Assembly, and the first Korean act that ranked no. 1 on the US Billboard 200 with non-English albums.

Following the introduction of BTS as Tokopedia’s brand ambassador in October 2019, the involvement of BTS in Waktu Indonesia Belanja (WIB) TV Show succeeded in bringing Tokopedia to the world’s and Indonesia’s first trending topic. In addition to their inspiring journey and achievements, BTS has been consistent in spreading a message of positivity, such as encouraging us to work hard to realize our dreams, fight against bullying, and other positive values that also correspond with Tokopedia’s 3 DNA.

In addition to BTS, Tokopedia has also chosen another global megastar, BLACKPINK, as our new brand ambassador. Debuted in 2016, BLACKPINK is a South Korean girl group consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, who managed to break 5 global records according to the Guinness World Records. BLACKPINK is also the first girl group to rank first on the Billboard Artist 100 Chart.

The same vision that we have shared between BTS and BLACKPINK, as well as the consistency of hard work and constant inspiration to the public, are among the reasons why we believe both groups are the perfect partners to portray the Tokopedia brand that will work great together with us in spreading our message to the world. With our common values, Tokopedia is hopeful that the collaboration between Tokopedia with BTS and BLACKPINK can encourage Indonesians to continue to work hard in realizing their dreams, despite any limitations.

Together with BTS and BLACKPINK as strategic partners, Tokopedia also hopes to take this momentum to bring Indonesia’s name to the global stage.
